Our Purpose
"At Tees and Smoke, we're dedicated to serving those who have served our country. Our mission is to provide a platform for veterans to connect, heal, and thrive through the game of golf. We host annual golf tournaments, for veterans and others, where they can come together, share camaraderie, and enjoy a day of recreation and relaxation. These events not only provide a much-needed break from the challenges of everyday life but also offer a chance for veterans to rebuild relationships, forge new connections, and experience a sense of community and belonging. Through our golf tournaments, we also raise critical funds to support veteran-centric initiatives, including mental health services, employment programs, and housing assistance. By combining golf, camaraderie, and philanthropy, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our nation's heroes, honoring their service and sacrifice while empowering them to overcome the unique challenges they face."

Our Founder
James Woods
"I'm a native Texan, born in Houston, but raised in California as the youngest of 11 children. Growing up in a low-income household, I knew firsthand the struggles of making ends meet, but it was those challenges that ignited a fire within me to help others. For 21 years, I've dedicated my career to serving as a registered emergency nurse, with a significant portion of that time spent at the VA hospital, where I've had the privilege of caring for our nation's heroes. My passion for supporting Veterans stems from a personal promise I made to my late uncle, Horace Kelly Jr., retired Marine, to do everything in my power to make a positive impact on Veterans lives. This promise has driven me to go above and beyond, striving to provide compassionate care, advocacy, and support to those who have bravely served our country. Through my experiences, I've come to understand the importance of community, resilience, and the unwavering commitment to helping others, values that guide me in both my personal and professional life."
